A Rural Support Programme, working in NWFP is seeking the services of Programme Manager, Social Sector and Gender issues to be based at Peshawar.
As in-charge of the Social Sector, the incumbent shall have the following responsibilities:
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The Programme Manager SS & GI will be expected to have excellent communication and analytical skills and will be working in close coordination with the field team and head office Level. She/he will play the following role;
- Devising social sector & gender strategies and policies at Organizational level, Programme and External level.
- Develop effective coordination and communication channels within and outside education department to ensure timely information, monitoring and follow-up support.
- Engaging with policy initiatives at the national provincial and district levels
- Fully abreast of international policy trends in education and poverty reduction programs.
- Undertake planning for the sector within the institutional framework of SRSP and
- emerging opportunities, annually, medium term and long term
- The programme Manager will take the lead in training her/his team to ensure that key tools of gender audit, programming and budgeting are well understood by the team,
- Mobilizing resources, building partnerships generally and public private Partnerships specifically devise and implement advocacy strategies for promoting rights base education
- Publication of newsletters, manuals and reports.
- Preparing progress reports and developing sectoral programme proposals.
- Coordinating and monitoring education, health and Gender related development interventions of the organization.
- Designing and conducting gender training/workshops for staff and rural communities in collaboration with the human resource development staff.
- Assessing programme development both at the organization and community. Level from gender perspective.
- Promoting institutional linkages and networking with the government and non-government agencies in the field of gender and social Sector.
- Participate regularly in RGG and GCG meeting at the regional and head office level and based on evaluation design prepare checklist for organizational analysis in consultation with gender Core and Gender Regional Group.
- Coordination, negotiations, advocacy and dealing with the donor organizations
- Ensure regular meetings and sustainability of "Education policy Advocacy forum" and "Gender Voice".
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- She/He must possess a master degree at the minimum in Social Sciences and having seven years of management and relevant experience of working in participatory rural development projects.
