    CARITAS Pakistan is a Relief and Development organization working with marginalized and disadvantages communities in Pakistan since 1965. Caritas Pakistan is actively engaged in reconstruction of earthquake affected communities in NWFP and AJK. Caritas Pakistan is seeking positions of Senior Civil Engineer and Programme Coordinator (Gender Mainstreaming) based in Caritas sub office Mansehera, NWFP.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER:

The senior civil engineer will be part of the construction team based in Mansehera working in the earthquake affected districts of Abbotabad, Muzaffarabad and Mansehera to built new earthquake resistant BHUs according to ERRA and NESPAK standards.

Base Station: Mansehera

Working sites: Dalola, BIO Union Councils district Abbotabad and Naranshrif, District Muzaffarabad.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree in Civil Engineering.

• At least 5 years extensive practical experience in construction sector.

• Extensive experience in reading site plans, construction plans and BoQs.

• Experience working with government authorities and committees.

• Supervise Caritas  site sub engineers and contractor's engineers.

• Coordinating with contractor on regular basis.

• Ensure the quality according to ERRA/NESPAK standards and specifications.

• Knowledge of earthquake resistant building concepts, and basic knowledge for structural engineering.

• Monitor BHU construction activities, time frame, budget and to ensure compliance with requirements.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good knowledge and understanding of Auto CAD 2004/2005.

• Able to make any assessment / BoQ at the request of mission.

PROGRAMME COORDINATOR (GENDER MAINSREAMING)

Base Station: Mansehera

The post holder will be responsible to implement the Gender main streaming policy of Earthquake Programme in the field areas. Build capacity of field teams on gender mainstreaming, ensure that gender is integrated in the programming, monitoring of gender aspects of the programme.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree in Gender and Development / Women Studies / Social Sciences.

• At least 3 years experience in the relevant field.

• Practical experience on gender issues in the field in NGOs set up and with communities.

• Experience and understanding in gender issues in emergencies situation.

• Experience writing proposal reports for donors.

• Experience and understanding of integration of Gender in other thematic areas i.e. Livelihoods, Health, transitional shelter etc.

• Experience in working with government structures, I/NGOs and UN agencies.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Computer literate and presentation skills.

• Willingness to travel in field areas and able to work in a team environment.
