For Selection of Consultants Package-B

LOAN: 2234-PSK(SF)

1. The Government of Pakistan has received loan 2234-PAK (SF) from ADB, for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Rural Development project, to reduce poverty in the three agencies of Bajur Mohamand and Khyber, by assisting them to build improved and sustainable livelihoods.

2. The key developmental objective of the project is to improve the productive potential of selected watersheds and their associated natural resource base in addition the project intends to strengthen the capacity of the communities in the project area for participatory involvement in planning, implementation, social and Environmental Management.

3. The project intends to appoint a consultant to conduct the Water Resource Assessment Study & Management Plan for all the three agencies.

4. The Water Resource Assessment Study & Management Plan will evaluate the current status of surface and ground water in the three project agencies to determine safe yields for ground water and exploitable surface runoff to identify areas for wells, small water developments and suitable sites for larger interventions such as ponds, small storages, flood control works, dams and gravity  irrigation systems, the consultants are required to develop a ground water monitoring system.

5. The Project Director , FATA Rural Development project , is therefore, seeking to invite "Expressions of Interest" from interested & reputed consulting firms having experience in the above mentioned sector.

6. Consulting services will be acquired and consulting guidelines on the use of consultants based on Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) procedure.

7. The approximate cost for the assignment is PRs 10.0 million.

8. Short listing will be carried out through these EOIs on the basis of,

• Experience of the firms/consultants.

• Experience in similar projects with ADB & World Band etc.

• Total expected project duration.
