JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

FATA DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME, Government to Community is public sector Programme , Establishment & working Government of NWFP, FATA Secretariat.

POSITION : FIELD ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

1. Manage technical and engineering components related to FDP programs implemented in an agency within FATA including the management of contractors.

2. Design architectural and structural drawings as well as create BOQ, material specifications lists, and other technical documentation relating to infrastructures programming within FATA.

3. Maintain working relationships with local, district, provincial and regional governmental authorities.

4. Facilitate activities that assist government authorities to liaise with community leaders, individuals  and groups to identify and prioritize community needs.

5. Work with government and local authorities, leaders, individuals and groups to identify and implement selected community authorities.

6. Attend meetings to discuss potential areas of mutual interest and benefits with program municipal authorities, government  authorities.

7. Monitor coordinating mechanism for project implementation and reporting with local authorities, government ministries and FDP

8. Negotiate contracts or agreements with contractors and assistant in administration of grants.

9. Supervise projects in coordination with government or local technical personnel and in collaboration with FDP technicians and provide regular reporting regarding the status of projects.

10. Assist in the tracking of financial expenditure of all program funds in area of responsibility.

Required Skills and Qualification:

• University degree in engineering.

• 2-3 years extensive experience in rural development infrastructure activities.

• Practical experience in the field of community infrastructure planning, designing and implementation.

• Experience in government infrastructure rehabilitation.

• Knowledge of English, Urdu, and Pashto or any other languages spoken in the region.
