Director for Procurement
A fast-paced world-class-standard organization based in
Peshawar is ungently seeking a Director for Procurement.

The Director for Procurement will ensure the compilation
and publication of timely and adequately specified requests for tenders and
proposals (RFPs), Terms of References (TORs) and Scopes of Work (SOWs) for large
civil construction works as well as the acquisition, installation and
commissioning of technical equipment and systems, transportation systems and
vehicle fleets. The Director for Procurement will Chair Bid Evaluation
Committees and will prepare rationalized recommendations for the organization,
Aos large purchases.
Specifically, the Director for Procurement, in
coordination with the Manager for Logistics, will:
- Strategically plan for, prepare, process and obtain all
necessary import tax exemption certificates for duty free imports of vehicles,
equipment and materials;
- Assure exemptions from value-added taxes in line with
the provisions of bilateral treaties between the Government of Pakistan and
other sovereign governments;
- Advise on the full range of documentation required for
contracts in compliance with the Laws of Pakistan and in accordance with
international best practices;
- Provide technical inputs, justifications and oversight
in generation large-value purchase orders;
- Be accountable for confirming the quality and capacity
of equipment or items sought in reference to technical specifications,
requirements, terms and conditions; and
- Perform other tasks assigned from time-to-time by the
Director General, particularly tasks that may be relevant to procurements,
contacts, inventory management and asset dispositions.
All candidates must have excellent hands-on computer
skills; possess a Master's Degree level of education; be fluent in Pashto as
well as Urdu and English languages; and have a minimum f 10 years professional
work experience in a large commercial for-profit organization such as a
transportation shipping line, a general construction contractor or a large
manufacturing company.
This full-time, long-term, permanent career position is
based in Peshawar.
